We’ve designed our graduate programmes to give you the very best in training, guidance and experience so you can play a key role in our future successes. You’ve got the potential, and we’re committed to helping you fulfil it.
This one-year rotational programme provides the ideal opportunity to gain experience across two key business areas: Capital Markets and Corporate Clients Group. Through two rotations of five months each, you’ll have access to the support and training you need to enhance your technical and professional skills, increase your knowledge of banking and lay the foundations for your future career at BNP Paribas.
In Global Banking (GB) you’ll get to work in Capital Markets, bringing our issuer and investor clients ever closer through origination, structuring and distribution across all markets, from Debt to Resources and Infrastructure and everything in between. Working with the Corporate Client Group, you’ll help us foster a long-lasting relationship built upon advice and integrated product offering, whilst leveraging our clients, capital and talents, to meet our goal of becoming the leading banking partner for corporates in EMEA.
Reaching your potential goes far beyond your qualifications; the person behind the degree is just as important. We’re looking for bright, ambitious graduates who are comfortable with numbers and can problem-solve. Having an analytical mind with a willingness to learn is an advantage, as is a good understanding of financial markets, some previous work experience in Financial Services, and strong organisational and communication skills.
We’ve designed this programme to give you exposure to three different areas of the business, where you’ll work on any of the following streams: Trading, Structuring, Sales, Primary or Research. Incorporating multiple rotations of varying length, the cross-stream programme is an excellent opportunity to learn about a variety of our products, clients and markets over the course of one year, with training and development support given to help you unlock your potential in your preferred business area.
Global Markets (GM) is our capital markets business within the Corporate & Institutional Bank (CIB), so this programme is all about delivering solutions across asset classes, and industry-leading services for clients. It’s a global role where you’ll be part of a larger team spanning EMEA, the Americas and Asia Pacific. But, the most rewarding part of the GM programme is the opportunity you’ll have to discover your strengths within the organisation and then figure out which career path you’re interested in. And we’ll provide support and advice at every step to help get you to where you want to be.
Your degree doesn’t have to be in Finance, Economics or Engineering to be a part of this programme, but if you’re a creative thinker and driven with a desire to learn and a willingness to challenge and innovate, then you’d be a good fit for the team. Having an interest in, and basic understanding of Capital Markets will give you a head start, along with being methodical and logical with great interpersonal skills. From day one, you’ll get to be a team player, trusted to take the initiative in finding solutions that make a difference.
From designing the systems and processes that enable our revenue generating divisions to operate at peak efficiency or developing new technologies for modelling to implement the controls that preserve our reputation and assets, to developing the packages that ensure we recruit and retain top talent – CIB Functions underpins everything at BNP Paribas CIB. With nearly 11,000 staff in Information Technology, Operations, Human Resources, Finance & Development and Compliance & Control, CIB Functions ensure that BNP Paribas is able to deliver the performance and results our clients expect.
The opportunity
During this two-year rotational programme you will learn from team members and colleagues who will share their extensive experience and wide breadth of knowledge, to ensure you understand and are fully aware of the regulatory requirements for the Bank, as well as benefiting from comprehensive internal training courses which complement your role. Graduate roles can
include Risk Global Markets, RISK SIGMA, RISK systems, ESG, Operational Risk, Cyber and Risk Governance and Controls.
The activities that you will be involved in will depend on the role and area you are working in, but these can include identifying and reviewing market risk exposures, developing skills in the design and implementation of different models, data analysis, monitoring and reporting, contributing to the building of tools and the continuous improvement of the operations.
The person
We’re looking for graduates with a keen interest in Risk, are client focused and result orientated who thrive under pressure and can problem-solve, have good organisation and time management skills, a willingness to learn, and have a good understanding of financial markets.
The opportunity
On our one-year Technology Graduate Programme you will be working in multiple technical areas such as application development, product implementation, business and technical analysis. Each day will be different – from working closely with our trading floor team to develop the software that enables them to make the split-second decisions that our business is founded on, or using your creativity and initiative to enhance or support our state-of-the-art systems and databases.
Whatever the task, our technologists work in a fast-moving environment where solutions move from concept to implementation in weeks and months rather than years.
The person
Having the relevant technical skills and software development experience is a must, but we are also looking for graduates who have an analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail and a willingness to learn, good communications skills and a basic understanding of financial markets.
Our graduate programmes provide the support and professional skills training required for you to adapt and evolve in your new role. Our development opportunities enable you to find your place as a valued member of the team, giving you the confidence to collaborate with your peers and senior staff members, and to make a real contribution from day one.
