global markets programme

The opportunity

This programme gives you a direct start in a specialist role — helping you build deep expertise early on. After a three-week induction with graduates from across EMEA, you’ll join one of five areas: Trading, Sales, Structuring, Research, or Primary Markets. You’ll get hands-on from day one, with a chance to shadow other teams to understand the full trade lifecycle. Three months after you start, you’ll go to the Global Markets Convention – a bespoke mid-programme training week that helps sharpen the skills you’ll need to succeed in BNP Paribas’ fast-paced capital markets business.

  • Primary: Assist in preparing proposals and updates, carry out data and credit analysis, and support the execution of mandates.
  • Research: Conduct macro and market research, build tools, and prepare insights for internal and client use — across asset classes and economies.
  • Sales: Help prepare research and market commentary, support client engagement, and contribute to team initiatives and materials.
  • Structuring: Design, price, and market derivatives to meet client needs. You’ll support marketing efforts, work closely with Sales and Trading, and help enhance our digital platforms.
  • Trading: Get involved in trade execution and short-term risk analysis. You’ll support strategy development through research, modelling, and regular market updates.

The person

Your degree doesn’t have to be in Finance, Economics or Engineering to be a part of this programme, but if you’re a creative thinker and driven with a desire to learn and a willingness to challenge and innovate, then you’d be a good fit for the team. Having an interest in, and basic understanding of financial markets will give you a head start, along with being methodical and logical with great interpersonal skills. From day one, you’ll get to be a team player, trusted to take the initiative in finding solutions that make a difference.

Global banking programme

This one-year rotational programme provides the ideal opportunity to gain experience across two key business areas: Capital Markets and Corporate Clients Group. Through two rotations of five months each, you’ll have access to the support and training you need to enhance your technical and professional skills, increase your knowledge of banking and lay the foundations for your future career at BNP Paribas.

The opportunity

In Global Banking (GB) you’ll get to work in Capital Markets, bringing our issuer and investor clients ever closer through origination, structuring and distribution across all markets, from Debt to Resources and Infrastructure and everything in between. Working with the Corporate Clients Group, you’ll help us foster a long-lasting relationship built upon advice and integrated product offering, whilst leveraging our clients, capital and talents, to meet our goal of becoming the leading banking partner for corporates in EMEA.

The person

Reaching your potential goes far beyond your qualifications; the person behind the degree is just as important. We’re looking for bright, ambitious graduates who are comfortable with numbers and can problem-solve. Having an analytical mind with a willingness to learn is an advantage, as is a good understanding of financial markets, some previous work experience in Financial Services, and strong organisational and communication skills.

Technology Programme

The opportunity

On our one-year Technology Graduate Programme you will be working in multiple technical areas such as application development, product implementation, business and technical analysis. Each day will be different – from working closely with our trading floor team to developing the software that enables them to make the split-second decisions that our business is founded on, or using your creativity and initiative to enhance or support our state-of-the-art systems and databases.

Whatever the task, our technologists work in a fast-moving environment where solutions move from concept to implementation in weeks and months rather than years.

The person

Having the relevant technical skills and software development experience is a must, but we are also looking for graduates who have an analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail and a willingness to learn, good communications skills and a basic understanding of financial markets.

Quant Associate

Our Quant Graduate Programme is built for problem-solvers who thrive on data, mathematics and technology. Over one year, you will join a specific desk from day one, specialising in areas such as e-Trading, the Data and AI Lab, Quantitative Research or Automated Market Making.

Your journey begins with a two-week induction followed a few months later by the Global Markets Convention, where you will further your technical training and connect with graduates from across our global network. This is where you will start applying your quantitative expertise to real-world challenges in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

The opportunity

From the outset, you will work closely with Trading, Sales and Structuring teams, using your mathematical and programming skills to analyse risk and improve pricing models. You will test assumptions, refine methodologies and help develop tools that shape our decision-making and support our clients.

With expert mentoring, leading technology and tailored training, you will learn how markets operate, strengthen your technical skills and build a strong foundation for a future in quantitative finance.

This is not just a graduate role. It is your first step into a career at the cutting edge of finance.

The person

To succeed, you will need:

  • A master’s or PhD in a quantitative subject such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance or Engineering.
  • Strong programming skills in C++, Python, Java or R.
  • Data manipulation and database experience.
  • An interest in financial markets, economics and quantitative finance.
  • A methodical, logical and solution-focused mindset.
  • A collaborative approach and a drive to deliver.

Experience in electronic markets or arbitrage strategies is an advantage, but not essential. What matters most is your curiosity, rigour and determination to learn.
