Business Area/Dept Overview
Global Macro offers full spectrum of products across FX, Rates and Commodities in both developed and emerging markets. From millisecond electronic trading supported by the most advanced AI platforms, through to analogue risk transfer and bespoke solutions to Macro problems.
The DM FX business offers Algorithmic execution capabilities, Electronic and Voice spot trading to the global Institutional and Corporate client base.
The FX spot Auto-Hedging business offers electronic and voice spot trading to the client franchise.
Purpose and Scope of Role
Purpose:
As a graduate in the FX Spot Auto-Hedging team, the role holder will be accountable for ensuring excellence in all trading activities that they undertake or directly oversee in their area of expertise and ensuring that these activities align with the Bank and its clients’ objectives and strategic goals.

Core Accountabilities of Role
• Accountable for providing support in relation to all trading activities related to electronic FX spot market making carried out by the team, and managing tasks such as:o Accurately pricing transactions within remit, properly assessing relevant market liquidity, hedgingcosts, risk management slippage, funding, and balance sheet factors.o Booking transactions within global trading book, and monitoring / conducting follow-ups withbooked transactions with Middle Office and Back Office.o Monitoring the aggregate Risk and P&L of the team’s book and assessing the risks of global book.o Identifying client and / or market opportunities and turning these into revenue for the Bank, in amanner that aligns with the overall desk’s strategy.o Developing the franchise by collaborating with sales and other business lines at the Banks
• Take personal responsibility for dealing with client queries related to areas within remit.• Operate under supervision from senior member, exercising sound judgement on when to seek guidance from senior colleagues for particularly complex transactions or issues.• Report to any senior members any blocking points, difficulties or issues.• Responsible for keeping up to date with existing and new rules and regulatory changes by Exchanges, Regulators and Compliance.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• Strong quantitative background evidenced by a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline.• Professional qualification required with expert technical knowledge and a strong level of experience in financial quantitative matters, typically gained at BNP Paribas or within another top tier investment bank as an intern.• A strong ability to articulate complex concepts in a concise and effective manner, as well as to effectively set expectations and manage conflicting interests to achieve objectives where required.• Demonstrable ability to recognise business opportunities for the team, generating innovative and creative ideas to drive the Bank’s objectives.• Commercial acumen, by maintaining market awareness independently.• Strong computer literacy and demonstrable experience in various specialist systems. (e.g. Reuters, Bloomberg and in-house risk/pricing tools).
